Proverbs

When I saw these proverbs, I felt like laughing because of its familiarity and the wisdom I felt when I used it. It made me think that its better to think twice before making myself wise or clever or a REAL FOOL by quoting proverbs. Why don’t you read it?                     Proverbs                                Proverbs Actions speak louder than words. The pen is mightier than the sword. Knowledge is power. Ignorance is bliss. Look before you leap. He who hesitates is lost. A silent man is a wise one. A man without words is a man without thoughts. Beware of Greeks bearing gifts. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Clothes make the man. Don't judge a book by its cover. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Better safe than sorry. Money talks. Talk is cheap. The only thing constant is change. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Two heads are better than one. If you want something done right, do it yourself. Many hands make light work. Too many cooks

Why Tears?

Tears, the one thing that couldn’t be replaced with anything in life. For joy, for sorrow, for excitement and for all occasions tears take   the centre stage. When the just born wails out his first cry, the mother cries, initially, out of happiness then later it changes to other reasons. Then the string of cries starts, the young, the old, man and woman all are in league with tears at opportunities uncalled for. But why do we drop the tear?        Well, for me I got to thinking of tears when my younger son howls out for every possible reason, pouring out his downpour, which makes like putting a stopper to his eyes. Usually in human culture women are more susceptible to tears but now, the culture has completely changed, I feel that the men are vying to equal their stance in tears too, just seeing my son’s tears. Don’t misinterpret.        So to the matter at hand,   tears have connection with the soul, that’s for sure. It just triggers when something has touched the soul of the p

Prayer

I have always thought that prayer is saying all the prayers we have studied, for making us rich, for making us studious, for getting a house, etc...There are loads of readymade prayers for all occasions but isn’t there something missing in it? Yeah, even I have felt it too. Normal human being is still striving to find, what is it?           I believe in God. I have full faith in Him. But I have felt that He doesn’t need all these readymade prayers. I, in my life had everything in life, whatever I wished for, everything came in abundance but they didn’t bring one thing, and that was happiness, peace and above all contentment.            We do not get it even if we strive for it. Happiness, peace & contentment cannot be bought, we feel we can be happy if we had this, but when we get that we are not that much happy as we had thought, then what again? Search for another reason to be happy.           Nothing can bring the fulfilment, it should come from within,   from the soul

Second Thoughts

The first time I decided was when I was 7 yrs old. I didn’t know, that would later decide my fate in life. It was the Annual Day Function of my school and my dad came early, as I was a boarder, he thought he could meet me and be with me. But I was so angry with him for putting me in the boarding, I didn’t even look at him (at that age I didn’t know, I could have such strong will. But any way I did.) I saw him sitting in the front row during the first part of the functions and then when the anniversary finished, I looked for him but it was too late, he had gone. That day I would never forget - The sadness in my dad’s eyes, the defeated walk and for my part I had a very heavy heart seeing my dad’s empty seat. I couldn’t control my tears. I cried and cried the whole night.          From that day I have always repented for that action and I would always think this situation before I decide any major decisions. But this same situation came when I grew up so I took a positive acti

Politeness

A virtue which I learned very early in life. Which every child should learn from childhood itself. It happened when I was 8 or 9 years old. I was travelling in a train from Kerala to Karnataka. A short trip and a keralite family were our near neighbours. Father, mother ands a son. The son might be 16 or 17 years old. The boy was very uncomfortable to sit with the rest of the family. So he used to go near the door and stay there. When the time to eat came, the father goes and invites him to eat and he comes with such sore face that I felt very sad for the parents. And when he came he found out that he didn’t like the food they bought and he started shouting at his mother. The expression of the mother was so sickening that I mentally called him names. I couldn’t forgive him for what he had done to his parents.             And after years back, when my son said something of that sort to me, I just thrashed him, then and there. You might think, it brutal but for me, I acted on
