Advantages and Disadvantages of Deforestation Deforestation is the process of converting forested lands into non-forest sites that are ideal for crop raising, urbanization and industrialization. Advantages: 1.        Deforestation provides the materials for various industries, such as logs for the logging industry and trees for the paper industry. The forest products industry is a large part of the economy in both developed and developing countries. 2.        It opens more job opportunities for people   in the lumbar industry besides Wood cutters , there are those who work in processing plants to make glue from wood sap, process pulp into paper, and others.   3.        Cutting down trees provides charcoal, a source of energy. 4.        For every patch of forest cut down, arable land becomes available for farmers. 5.        The land can be used as an area to place urban living sites like apartments, houses, and buildings. 6.          The number of people employed by such a construct

Science Club

Respected Principal, teachers and my dear friends.  Science is a vast ocean of knowledge even a small pebble can cause a ripple.  Think about a world without technology. No computers , no cars. No vaccines or cures for diseases. Life would be joyless and extremely hard. It was not long ago that this was the case. However, now with science on our side it's a whole new story. Science permeates our lives and informs our actions. Physics , for example, teaches us how mirrors work, how glasses can aid one's vision and how heat is treated by various household materials and there goes a list of many more. Chemistry discusses the principles of matter, like atoms, molecules and compounds. It discusses the countless different substances that can arise from the minutest variations within compounds. These atoms, molecules and compounds make up the water we drink, the food we eat, the air we breathe, the medicines we take when we are sick. In short   we can't possibly live without Chem

GOAL

Today Is the day when I feel most elated because today is Friday and my children don’t have to go to school tomorrow. When I was at school, I really liked this day and when I became a teacher, I too jumped with my students when Friday arrived. Its not a feeling that is specifically to me alone, its a general feeling I suppose. Friday is a day when we can postpone all our works, as the day after is a Saturday and we have the whole time in the world. Even if we miss the Saturday, we have the Sunday to finish our work. Now I just don’t know, how we got these days as   holidays. Was it by chance or by choice? Well however, these days help children have a day to look forward to and I think this expectation is the foundation for all expectations of mankind isn’t it? You know life without expectation would really be boring isn’t it? Everyday getting up early in the morning, having bed coffee, doing our basic necessities, having breakfast, etc.... etc... God, it’d be such a dragging life like

Punctuality

Let every hour be in its place Firmly fixed, nor loosely shift, And well enjoy the vacant space, As though a birthday gift.           The measure of any society's development and progress does not lie in the wealth of which it disposes or the natural resources that it harbours but in the value system to which its citizens subscribe. The most important of these values are, “a respect for time” Honourable judges, respected teachers, parents and my dear friends           I would like to speak a few words about punctuality.   What is punctuality? Allow me to begin by stating the Dictionary's definition of Punctual:   Acting or arriving exactly at the time appointed. One might wonder whether punctuality is really all that important? Does it hold any great value? What difference does it create in life?           Well, b eing on time shows that you are responsible, trustworthy and can follow directions. More than that, it shows that you have personal integrity and self-discipline.

Influence Of Media In Our Daily Life

“ The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and the guilty innocent, and that's power, for they control the minds of the masses. ” Respected Teachers And My Dear Friends. I’d like to speak a few words on the “Influence of media in our daily life” In the last 50 years the media influence has grown exponentially with the advance of technology. They have a strong social and cultural impact upon our society. We have put our trust on the media as an authority to give us news, entertainment and education.   Of all the media channels the most influential has been the television and the internet. And the most influenced, the kids, adolescents and the youth of our society. Several hours in front of the computers and television lowers children's interest in interacting with other people. Instead of spending time with friends on some outside activities, or participating in cultural life, children tend to choose spending time on the i

"The Importance of Maternal Care and Love in Childhood” - Part 2

story about a MOTHER’S LOVE written by an unknown Author My Mother’s LoveMy mom had only one eye. I hated her …She was such an embarrassment. She cooked for students and teachers to support the family. One day during elementary school, my mom came to say hello to me. I was so embarrassed. I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school one of my classmates said, ”EEEEE, your mom has only one eye!” I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my mom to just disappear. So I confronted her that day and said,” Are you going to make me a laughing stock, why don’t you just die?!!!” My mom did not respond…I didn’t even stop to think for a second about what I had said, because I was full of anger. I was oblivious to her feelings. I wanted her out of that house, and have nothing to do with her. So I studied real hard, got a chance to go to Singapore to study. Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. I had kids of my own. I was happy with my life, my kids and the

“The Importance of Maternal Care and Love in Childhood”-Part 1

Though my topic is mostly on Maternal love and care, it doesn’t mean that Paternal or father’s love isn’t necessary or isn’t important. Parents(both father and mother), who love children unconditionally, serve as excellent role models. All facets of parental love and care are of vital importance to children's all-round growth. Love expressed in silent, unspoken ways, can have a powerful impact on children's lives. But demonstrating love freely in as many different ways possible can be a powerful elixir in children’s lives. That is possible with a mother and that’s what I w ould like to focus here. Nature entrusted the job of bringing up kids primarily to mothers because of their natural intuitive mind and patience. Young kids in their growing age are like saplings, very delicate. Any harsh treatment damages the sapling and retards its proper growth. The kids have to be guided with love and lots of understanding. Little things matter in parenting little kids. Children need to b
