How To Control Your Mind?

 There is only one way to do that.


Meditation.


That does not mean, sit in one place, close your eyes and breathe. Well, if you can do that, then that's perfectly cool.


But if you can meditate, every waking hour, then, that is the best way.


How do we do that?

So, let's find, "who usually says, Meditation is boring?"

Yes, your mind.

What exactly is meditation?

Meditation is to find your inner silence and peace.


What exactly happens, when you decide to meditate or pray or be quiet?

Your mind will shout "Its BORING!!!" You know you will have to sit there without TV, without your phone and you will have to sit still. You know it's impossible. You have so much to study, to work, to go there, etc... And you will hear it and say, "Yes, its boring and you have no time."


You are now a slave of your mind. It is controlling you and you are not even aware of it.

All the problems you are having in life is because you are following what your mind is saying. Did you know that? 

I bet you didn't.

So, it's time to stop hearing your mind and taking control of it. And the first step is, whenever your mind says something to distract you, just say, "Shut Up!!" Now you are conscious, that your mind is distracting you.


Let me give an example.

Imagine you are studying Science, immediately, your mind says, "You know, there is a problem, which you have not done in Maths, I think you should do it, or else you will forget how to do it." And you hear it and you reply to your mind, "Oh My God!! That's true and you take your Maths book immediately and while doing that, again your mind will inform, "You know, you had told your friend that you will call her, did you do that?" Again you will reply, "Oh shoot!! I forgot and you leave the Maths work and call your friend and your day ended with that." This is how you live. Your mind is making you dance to its tune and ruining your life, by not helping you complete any of your duty.

What should you do?


Next time, when your mind informs you, that you have some other work, just say, "Thank you for reminding, but I will finish this first." And it continues with other task and still you say, "Thank you, but I am continuing what I am doing." You can say anything, but don't follow it. Don't close that book or don't stop that work, continue whatever you are doing.


Then your mind will know that, you would not listen to it and it will stop that chatter. It will not bother you. But its a long time process, to make your mind shut up. But you can achieve it. That is meditation. You don't need to sit in a place or close your eyes. If you can make your mind to stop talking for 5 minutes, then 10 minutes and 20 and 40 and 60 and for the whole day and for a month and a year and many years, then I would say, you have conquered your mind. That is what Meditation does.

Everyone has a route to find peace and happiness. You can find your own route map and follow it or you can follow the path other people has been following, its your choice. But its high time, you took control of your mind and your life instead of leaving it to your mind to make life hell.

So live your life wisely.
